It is alleged that an investigating officer used profanities on a road accident vicitim
KUALA LUMPUR: All he wanted to do is lodge a police report regarding a car accident that he was involved in.
However,Neng Thian Soong, 63 years old, was harassed by the investigating officer (IO) on Jan 8.
The IO identified as Sargent Arman Isa is believed to be mad at Neng for rescheduling an appointment with him to discuss the case.
Not only Arman scolded him with vulgar language, he also uttered racist remarks towards him over a phone conversation, claimed Neng.
The conversation was recorded by Neng.
A police report was lodge against Arman at Ampang Jaya District Police Headquarters this morning.
“I was involved in an accident on Jan 4 and reported it the next day but the IO was not there when I lodge the report, so I left my phone number.
“He called me on Jan 8 and wanted me to come and give my statement but I was busy at that time so I said I will come at night instead.
“However, there was a massive traffic jam that night so I couldn’t go out. I called him twice to apologise and reschedule but he started scolding me,” said Neng in a press conference accompanied with Cheras MP Tan Kok Wai.
According to Neng, Arman however was not satisfied with his excuse and demanded him to come to the police station.
“He called me back after 10 pm and demanded me to meet him that night but my doctor advise me not to stay up late since I just did an angiogram.
“I then recorded the conversation and managed to record him scolding me and using racist remarks,” said Neng.
Tan said that this is a serious matter and had informed about it to Ampang Jaya OCPD Khairuldin Saad.
He also hope that the case will be acted upon immediately and called for Arman to be relieved of his duties.
“We are thankful for Neng to come forward as we believe there are many more people who suffered the same fate,” said Tan.

ReplyDeleteSaya bukan nak menyebelahi mana-mana pihak. Tapi pada saya isu ini hanyalah isu kecil tetapi kerana orang politik campur jadi heboh.
Jawatan itu bukannya sebab. Basarkah kalau berpangkat Sarjan (LLP)? Jadi pada saya bukan masalah pangkat atau apa, cuma mungkin ada silap faham dan mungkin juga ada kata-kata yang tidak sepatutnya diucapkan oleh kedua-dua belah pihak
