Shooting star shower due in Buryatia overnight
An annual space phenomenon, the so-called Geminids meteor shower, will be seen with the naked eye, with even a full moon unable to prevent one from enjoying the sight of shooting stars. The phenomenon can be watched in the Gemini constellation, the highest point on the Northern latitude horizon.
According to the head of the Buryat State University Observatory, Lilia Mironova, nature will offer an alternative to the New Year’s festive fireworks, - the Ursids meteor shower, which, although not as bright as on some years, will nonetheless prove quite colourful.
