Syrian envoys in Malaysia announce defection from Assad’s regime
The Syrian Consul in Kuala Lumpur, Emad al-Ahmar (L), and the diplomatic attaché, Mahmoud Obeid (R), announced their defection from the Syrian regime.
A number of Syrian diplomats in Malaysia announced their defection on Friday, Al Arabiya said in an exclusive report.

In a special interview on Al Arabiya from the Egyptian capital, Cairo, Ahmar said that the regime of Bashar al-Assad has been using brutal violence against civilians who call for freedom.
From Cairo, Obeid also announced that he will be joining the Syrian revolution.
A large number of Syrian diplomats worldwide have announced their defection from the Syrian regime over the past few months. The Syrian ambassador in Iraq Nawaf al-Fares was the first Syrian diplomat to announce defection from Assad’s regime in July.
He was then followed by the Syrian ambassador in Belarus Farouk Taha; the Syrian ambassador in the United Arab Emirates Abdul Latif al-Dabbagh and the Syrian ambassador in Cyprus Lamiaa al-Hariri.
Other defections included Khaled al-Ayoubi, the Syrian envoy in London and the Syrian diplomatic attaché in Serbia Bashar al-Haj.- sumber
