Kenapa hanya segelintir Melayu yang berada di bawah ketiak UMNO/BN saja yang kaya raya?
Kenapa NGO-NGO ini pilih bulu dan pilih tempat?
Poor misunderstood NGOs
If this article doesn't cause readers to shed tears for ISMA and like minded groups, we don't know what will.
Perkasa has been very quiet lately. Maybe it’s busy opening up branches in the UK and elsewhere. However, in its place, ISMA is still carrying on the good fight for a better Malaysia.
Too many abuses have been hurled at alleged radical NGOs for their sincere endeavours to struggle for a better Malaysia by bipolar Malaysians who want a change of government simply for the sake of change. Even tame Muslim consumer groups and pseudo-Malay individuals like Ridhuan Tee have been unfairly criticised for no reason.
Malaysians fail to see that these honourable NGOs only have the welfare of the Malays at heart. Their love and loyalty for the race, religion and royalty know no bounds.
And with the accelerated erosion of rights accorded only to the Malays since Independence, their fears are well founded. Unlike before, more and more Malays are finding it difficult to get lucrative contracts without having to bid an arm and a leg for them in a tedious tender process.
Something must have gone terribly wrong somewhere if after 50 years of independence the majority Malays cannot stand on their own two feet, unlike the Chinese and Indians, who are up and running.
Umno’s untold sacrifice for the welfare of the Malays despite impossible odds is well documented. Their leaders, who have been giving their heart, soul, blood, sweat and tears to try to eliminate Malay poverty have met with gross failure. So how can anyone blame Umno for not trying?
That is why we should welcome the mushrooming of NGO’s like Perkasa, ISMA, JMM, JATI, PEKIDA and so on. They may be able to achieve what Umno has not.
Unlike Perkasa, which was born in the aftermath of the 2008 general election and is led by the highly respected Ibrahim Ali, ISMA is an organisation of Malay intellectuals with a high degree of professionalism.
Formed in 1997, this prestigious Islamic NGO operates upon an impressive motto—Unanimous Malay, Supreme Islam. It says a lot about about its non-partisan and moderate politics and proves that it is a credible, modern and truly intellectual organisation.
Its leaders do not go berserk or run amok like those of fanatical NGOs, but are able to argue their positions with professionalism and tact.
It is sad that Malaysians are too quick to write them off as hard-line Islamists or racial and religious bigots belonging in the loony bin without examining the true nature of their struggle.
Fact, not hearsay
ISMA’s legitimate claims that Indians and Chinese were intruders, brought into the country by the British to weaken the Malay identity and undermine the community’s birthright to Tanah Melayu on the pretext of multiculturalism, are based on historical fact and not hearsay.
Their concern that certain political parties may try to mortgage the sovereignty of Islam and the Malays, causing a lot of hurt and pain in the process, is well founded.
After much research and deliberation, ISMA has concluded that the DAP is the cancer that will destroy Malay unity in this country and cause another May 13 if left unchecked.
DAP is threatening national unity and harmony with its rejection of Malaysia as an Islamic nation and Muslims as the original race who should receive special rights. As if that’s not bad enough, it is also fighting for the word Allah to be used in Bahasa Malaysia bibles and for the rejection of hudud.
Seriously, it is not easy to zero in on a cancerous tumour like the DAP. Enlightening revelations about this evil political party can be uncovered only through sheer hard work and research by premier organisations like ISMA.
It boggles the mind that so many Malaysians are rejecting these findings.
If DAP is truly not anti-Malay, why then did it bother to field Dyana Sofya in Teluk Intan?
The fact that DAP supports the Interfaith Council and Comango and upholds basic human rights, racial unity, equal rights, the Federal Constitution, free speech and freedom of religion is proof that DAP is not only anti-Malay, but also anti-religion.
DAP has also no right to accuse these NGOs of tarnishing the Malaysian image, as Malaysia never had an image to begin with. Calling for the BN government to rein in these so-called radical NGOs is a blatant abuse of free speech.
Sometimes, the problem with DAP is that it is still sticking to old school politics and upholding the Federal Constitution in letter and spirit.
What is so wrong for DAP to close one eye on the constitution once in a while? At least the MCA, MIC and Gerakan have shown flexibility and looked the other way when it came to sensitive issues like Malay supremacy.
Malaysians must learn to treat NGOs like ISMA with reverent respect. Be supportive and understand their divine cause and universal views by reading between the lines.
We must take note that professional NGOs like ISMA are able to articulate policies with clarity, unlike BN leaders, who often get tongue-tied. Isn’t it true that many BN leaders have been caught with their pants down, saying things they don’t mean and meaning things they don’t say?
A blessing
That is why these NGOs are a blessing. They are able to assist the government to bulldoze through excellent policies that sound ridiculous only because of the government’s failure to educate the public.
So it was commendable of JMM (Jaringan Melayu Malaysia) to slam Sin Chew for misleading the public on the fuel policy that is set for implementation this September.
If we do not fancy the politics of Perkasa, we should at least give ISMA’s doctrine a second look. The fact that it and like-minded NGOs are supportive of the BN government is testament that their ideologies have a rock solid base and not flimsy like Comango’s support of LBGT.
Contrary to what people may think, these organisations are neutral and independent, as they have themselves clarified. They are neither funded by nor answerable to the government. In short, they should not be classified as government stooges but as independent bodies that will protect the sanctity of democracy in this country.
Although Perkasa has admitted to some form of assistance from the BN government, it was merely to fund certain programmes. The organisation should therefore not be misconstrued as a tool of BN. The same goes to all the NGO’s fighting for race and religion on their own free will.
In fact, we should look up to them and recognise them as the Third Force who will fight against liberalism, pluralism and secularism while championing race supremacy and Islam. At least PAS has an ally to turn to the next time it tries to push its hudud agenda.
