Calls for Netanyahu to resign over Gaza war policy

Cabel said in a statement 'the people in Israel are confused about Netanyahu's positions and objectives', adding that there is the impression that 'Netanyahu himself does not know the fate of his policy'.
Knesset member, Eitan Cabel, chairman of the opposition Labour Party has issued a scathing attack against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over his "confused" management of the war in the Gaza Strip, saying that he should resign his post, Israel Radio reported.
Cabel called on Netanyahu to resign in light of what he described as "the deteriorating security situation for the communities adjacent to the Gaza Strip".
Cabel said in a statement "the people in Israel are confused about Netanyahu's positions and objectives", adding that there is the impression that "Netanyahu himself does not know the fate of his policy".
The radio said that "there is considerable ambiguity surrounding the future of confrontation and the ongoing negotiations in Cairo especially as Hamas leader, Mousa Abu Marzouk hints that the Palestinian delegation and Hamas are withdrawing from the cease-fire talks in Cairo".
The indirect talks between the Palestinian and Israeli delegations under Egypt's auspices stopped on Friday after the 72-hour ceasefire which Cairo brokered between the two sides ended.
Israel's Channel 2 said that "this uncertainty and the ongoing shooting and the confusion prompted residents in the southern of Israel to attack Netanyahu and the Israeli army and its leadership in an unprecedented way and to describe them as helpless".
Israel has been waging a war on the Gaza Strip since July, 7 which led to the killing of 1,917 Palestinians and wounding of nearly ten thousand more, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry records. - sumber
