Mat Zain Bikin Pening Lagi?

Ex-top cop calls for RCI on Najib for ‘Sodomy II statement’
 | December 9, 2014
The thrust of the complaints was the possibility that Najib could have given inaccurate information in court affidavits.
rci_najib_300KUALA LUMPUR: A former top police officer took to the media, in a statement on Tuesday, to stress that there are sufficient grounds to convene a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on issues he has since raised in three statutory declarations (SD). The issues were also stated in a letter which he submitted to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Nancy Shukri, the de facto Law Minister.
“Najib cannot be overconfident that the courts will find in his favour or his wife’s,” former city CID chief Mat Zain Ibrahim wrote to Nancy in expressing his concerns.
In the SDs, he had raised concerns on certain affidavits submitted by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his wife, Rosmah Mansor. It’s a fact that Najib’s statement in a supporting affidavit on September 21, 2011 on Sodomy II was false, he added.
“This issue will eventually be exposed, whether directly or via other court proceedings involving Najib or Rosmah, whether as plaintiffs or defendants,” said Mat Zain. “The matters raised could not be hidden from public knowledge as it would eventually be exposed.”
The thrust of his complaints was to stress on the possibility that Najib could have given inaccurate information in court affidavits.
Najib, said Mat Zain in citing an example, gave his full name as Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak in some statements but in others, it was just Najib Tun Abdul Razak.
The affidavits in question had been submitted by Najib and Rosmah in the Sodomy II trial of Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim. Mat Zain stressed that the issue was important and arose because Najib had initiated lawsuits against those who criticized him or Rosmah. He didn’t consider that his moves could backfire, he added.
Najib’s lawyers have since served legal notices on Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua and Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli. They raised the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and petrol subsidy issues respectively.
Najib and his wife, noted Mat Zain, always resorted to shortcuts via the courts to strike out any summons against them or set aside any subpoenas requiring them to testify in court.
“As prime minister, Najib took an oath in Allah’s name in front of the Agong that he would be loyal to Malaysia and would defend and protect the Federal Constitution,” said Mat Zain.
“He cannot give false statements whether written or oral, in court proceedings whether civil or criminal.”
Mat Zain cited the example of then United States president Bill Clinton who faced impeachment proceedings in the US Senate in 1999, not because of his relationship with Monica Lewinsky, but for perjury.

  1. I think the former top police officer might be overlooked the differences of the credibility between USA court and ours. The USA judges really make their verdict without fear or favour, which are not practiced by our judges. It's not a big deal for any of our BN leaders especially Umno to escape from any guilt by our judiciary system nowadays. With the assistance by Ghani or Shafee and don't forget the few judges which are Augustine Paul's likewise, it's guaranteed for sure 'not relevant' will be orchestrated in the court. Then finally, black will be turned to white and vise versa.
I'm sorry for the above mentioned view, as I found that our judiciary system's had shown the said track record, several times absolutely.
