Khalid not fit to be IGP, says Shah Alam MP
PETALING JAYA: The Inspector-General of Police, Khalid Abu Bakar, has been urged to show more respect for the court’s findings in a civil suit over the shooting by police of a 14-year-old schoolboy.
Parti Amanah spokesman Khalid Samad, who is MP for Shah Alam, said it was unacceptable for the IGP to refuse to apologise to the family of Aminulrasyid Amzah even when the court held that Khalid, then Selangor CPO was guilty of misfeasance.
“He is showing such disregard for a decision that was made by the court and I feel that if he refuses to apologize than he’s not fit to be the IGP, therefore I would support the call for his resignation,” he said.
Khalid said the IGP seemed to have the attitude of “one who believes he is above the law” and that no one could make him do anything that he did not want to do.
Khalid Samad also said that he found it strange that an IGP would be too “proud and arrogant” to apologise to a family that has been traumatised by the actions of “those who were meant to serve and protect.”
“What Khalid has to understand is that he is a public official and its his job to serve the public. These people have lost their son, how could it hurt for him to just apologise?”
# aku yakin bila dah jadi bising macam ni IGP akan bertegas dengan pendiriannya kerana air muka!
cuma aku ragu tekanan ke atas IGP ni kerana politik atau kemanusiaan?
masalahnya bila orang politik campur tangan........
aku bukan nak bela sapa-sapa, tetapi keadaan dah jadi gitu
